Is this like Battlebots?
(a frequently asked question)
FIRST Robotics is not about making over-the-top armored and weaponized robots to
battle in arena deathmatchs.
What we do can be just as entertaining to watch and fun to participate in, and even more complex! We
participate in FIRST Robotics Competition
(FRC), an international high school robotics competition. The game involves alliances
comprised of 3 teams competing against opposing alliances to score points, using their own 125-lb.
controller-operated robots.

About Us
We are a non-profit organization founded in 2018 that is devoted to developing skilled youth, strong
community, and competitive robots.
Our team consists of around 30 bright high school students from 7 different high schools and 7
mentors who teach engineering skills and
guide students toward success. Our community-based team operates in Markham, Ontario but we also
welcome students from around Markham like
Richmond Hill, Vaughan, Stouffville, and Scarborough.

Our Sponsors
Everything that we do would not be possible without the generosity of our sponsors. Between
tournament registration, robot parts, transportation,
outreach expenses, and more, our annual operating budget is between $17000 and $40000. Our sponsors
primarily provide monetary contributions,
but in-kind donations such as materials and tools, in-store discounts, or build/storage space for
team operations are all tremendously impactful.
Any and all forms of support are welcome and appreciated.
